Scott Grommes

Director, Safeguards & Security

Scott Grommes joined Cogent in 2012 and has served in various leadership roles including his current position as the Director of the Safeguards and Security. With over
35 years of dedicated experience, Scott is a seasoned expert in tactical security operations, training, and fostering international partnerships. A significant portion of his career has been in direct support of the critical nuclear security mission for both the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).

Prior to Cogent, Scott completed a distinguished 20-year career with the Albuquerque Police Department (Ret.). His tenure included pivotal roles on the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team and as a Basic Training Squad Supervisor and lead tactics instructor at the departments training academy. He also has extensive experience in planning and executing Dignitary and Personal Protection Details for high-profile clients across the United States.

Scott holds a Master of Education degree in Leadership Training and Development from Wayland Baptist University.
