Jesse Wasson is Chief Analytic and Technology Officer at Cogent Security Consulting, LLC where he is responsible for quality, development, and integration of technical products and services.

 

Before joining Cogent in 2024, Jesse worked at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) for 12 years. There he held multiple leadership roles including most recently leading the Surety Program Group with over 75 personnel supporting safety and security programs for Navy Strategic Systems Programs, National Nuclear Security Administration, the United States Secret Service, and Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Prior to this he served as Director of Modeling, Simulation, and Analytics leading asymmetric threat and risk assessments, managing the production of performance assurance dashboards and technical reports, and overseeing the development of custom analytical and training applications. Before SPA, Jesse spent six years in academia teaching and researching topics such as international security, nuclear deterrence, and economics.

 

Jesse holds a PhD in political science from the University at Buffalo and has published in various outlets including Defence Studies and Homeland Security Affairs.
